First Nations First

We are comitted to ensuring the voices of first nations cultures are centred in decision-making, elevated and empowered to create a more inclusive, just and fair world.

Our commitment.

We commit to the Uluru Statement from the Heart and work with Indigenous Leadership organisations across Australia to empower the under-represented voices of the world's oldest surviving culture.

Closing the Gap

The Social Justice Report of 2005 called for the comittment from the Australian government to ahieve equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in health and life expectancy within 25 years. Non-government agencies responded with a National Indigenous Health Equality Campaign in 2006, and launched the Close the Gap campaign in 2007. Our impact with The Australian Institute of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Studies

How might we develop a foundational digital-first audience engagement strategy and impact evaluation, that brings together the breadth of cultural knowledge, education and engagement initiatives of this organisation — and ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and cultures are recognised, respected, celebrated and valued?

I am part of the oldest continuous culture on Earth. We have survived the worst of humanity, and we continue to thrive.

Our stories, our songs, and our connection to country are what make us who we are. They remind us of our history, our strength, and our resilience.

Being an Indigenous person in Australia means carrying the weight of our ancestors' pain, but it also means embodying their resilience and strength.

Our advocacy for the return of first nations cultural artefacts.

We advocate strongly for the return of first nations cultural artefacts — especially those closest to our hearts.

The return of the Parthenon Marbles to their home in Athens (Greece), has been a position we've held for many years; and we continue to advocate as often, and as loudly as we can for their return.

Freedom for first nations cultures around the world.

Sometimes its comfortable to focus on some first nations culture and not others — our advocacy for the freedom, right-of-return, sovereignty, human rights and self-determination of Palestinians in their homeland is something we are proud of, and continue to support.
