At Tank, we condemn the ‘March for Australia’ rallies which are planned across the country on August 31, 2025. Fuelled by anti-immigration rhetoric by organisers, these events do nothing more than create division and racism.

We know first-hand what it means to build a life in a new place. Migration is part of our story, and it shapes the way we work with people across Australia—leaders, communities, and those whose voices are too often overlooked.

We acknowledge the trauma rallies such these can have on people within our Australian community.

This weekend, anti-immigration protests are being organised across the country. These demonstrations are harmful, divisive acts that risk deepening fear and mistrust. They deny the richness that comes when people from different backgrounds live, work and create together. They also deny a simple truth: every one of us, except for the First Nations peoples of this land, are migrants or descendants of migrants.

Australia’s strength lies in its diversity, and in the principle of respect for all who call this country home. We stand firmly with the people and communities who may feel targeted or unsafe in this moment.

Our commitment is to keep listening, to amplify voices that are too often ignored, and to work towards a country where every person—regardless of where they come from—can feel safe, respected and valued.

We know that words alone are not enough. That’s why our work continues to be about co-creating with communities, building cultural integrity in our institutions, and shaping futures where dignity and inclusion are not negotiable.

We call on our partners, the leaders and institutions we work alongside, our colleagues across industries, to reject these harmful, racist and discriminatory events.
